An-Naml

An-Naml refers to the 27th chapter (surah) of the Quran. It is a Meccan surah, meaning it was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) before the migration to Medina. The name "An-Naml" translates to "The Ant" in English, and it derives from the story of the ants featured in verses 18 and 19 of the chapter, where Prophet Solomon (Sulaiman) understands their warning to each other about being crushed.

The surah contains 93 verses (ayat) and primarily focuses on themes of divine power, the consequences of belief and disbelief, the stories of prophets, and the signs of God's existence in the natural world. Key narratives within the surah include the stories of Prophet Moses (Musa), Prophet Solomon (Sulaiman), and Prophet Salih. The story of Solomon and the Queen of Sheba (Bilqis) is a prominent and detailed narrative, highlighting themes of faith, submission to God, and the acceptance of truth.

An-Naml emphasizes the importance of recognizing God's signs and appreciating His blessings. It warns against arrogance and heedlessness and promotes righteousness and adherence to divine guidance. The surah serves as a reminder of the accountability that all humans will face on the Day of Judgment.
