Happy Together (American TV series)
Happy Together is an American television sitcom that aired on CBS from October 1, 2018, to January 14, 2019. The series was inspired by a period in the life of Harry Styles, a member of the band One Direction, when he temporarily lived in the attic of television producer Ben Winston’s house.
The show centers around Jake Davis (played by Damon Wayans Jr.), an accountant who works for a famous pop star, and his wife Claire (played by Amber Stevens West), a design enthusiast. Jake and Claire are a happily married, somewhat boring, couple who find their predictable lives upended when Cooper James (played by Felix Mallard), a young, globally popular singer, unexpectedly moves into their home to escape the paparazzi and reconnect with a normal life.
The series explores the comedic clashes that arise from Cooper’s disruptive presence and the challenges faced by Jake and Claire as they adjust to living with a celebrity. The supporting cast includes Stephnie Weir as Bonnie and Chris Parnell as Wayne, Jake's parents, who add to the humorous dynamic.
Happy Together was created by Tim McAuliffe and Austen Earl. Despite initial interest, the show was canceled after one season due to low ratings.
