Birmingham Hodge Hill and Solihull North (UK Parliament constituency)
Birmingham Hodge Hill and Solihull North is a proposed constituency of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It is scheduled to be first contested at the next general election, which must be held no later than January 2025.
The constituency is a result of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies conducted by the Boundary Commission for England. It comprises areas currently within the Birmingham Hodge Hill and Meriden constituencies. Specifically, it combines the Hodge Hill ward from within the City of Birmingham with the northern part of the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull.
The creation of this constituency reflects population changes and is intended to ensure more equal representation across parliamentary seats. The proposals aim to keep local ties intact as much as possible while adhering to the electoral quota. Detailed maps and descriptions of the proposed boundary changes are available from the Boundary Commission for England. The final recommendations were submitted to Parliament in 2023 and approved, paving the way for the new constituency to be used at the next general election.
