HMS Tempest (H71)

HMS Tempest (N86) was a T-class submarine of the Royal Navy. Built by Scotts Shipbuilding and Engineering Company, Greenock, she was launched on 22 June 1943 and commissioned on 11 October 1943.

During World War II, HMS Tempest served primarily in the Mediterranean. She conducted numerous patrols, sinking several enemy ships, including merchant vessels, escort ships, and submarines. Notable successes included the sinking of the Italian submarine Acciaio.

On 13 February 1946, HMS Tempest was sold to the Portuguese Navy, where she was renamed NRP Narval (S163). She served in the Portuguese Navy until being scrapped in 1969.
