Halfway (band)

Halfway is an Australian indie rock band formed in Brisbane, Queensland in 2000. The band's music is often described as a blend of country, rock, and folk influences, characterised by introspective lyrics and strong storytelling.

The core members of Halfway include Chris Dale (vocals, guitar), John Busby (guitar, vocals), Elwin Hawtin (drums), Noel Mengel (bass), Ben Johnson (guitar), and Wanda McDonald (vocals, keyboards).

Halfway has released several critically acclaimed albums, including Farewell to the Fainthearted (2006), An Outpost of Promise (2014), and Restless Dream (2018). Their work has received multiple Queensland Music Awards and Australian Music Prize nominations.

The band is known for its collaborative spirit, often working with other musicians and artists. Their album The Golden Age of Bloodletting (2011) was a collaboration with Robert Forster of The Go-Betweens.
