Berryessa station (VTA)
Berryessa station is a Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) and Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) light rail station located in the Berryessa district of San Jose, California. It serves as the northern terminus for both the BART Berryessa/North San José–Richmond line and the VTA Orange Line. The station provides connections between the BART system, which serves the wider Bay Area, and the VTA light rail, which serves Santa Clara County.
The BART portion of the station opened on June 13, 2020, extending the BART system southward from Warm Springs/South Fremont station. The VTA light rail portion has been in operation for a longer period, serving as a transfer point within the VTA light rail network.
The station's location is intended to provide convenient access for residents of North San Jose and surrounding areas to both regional and local transit services. The area surrounding the station has seen increased development, including residential and commercial projects, aimed at creating a transit-oriented community. The station includes amenities such as parking, bicycle parking, and connections to local bus routes.
