Bellini (Italian band)
Bellini was an Italian musical group active primarily in the early 2000s. They are best known for their Eurodance track "Samba de Janeiro," which became a major hit across Europe in 1997. The group's lineup consisted of dancers and musicians, fronted by Brazilian singer Dandara Santos-Silva.
"Samba de Janeiro" sampled the melody from Airto Moreira's "Tombo in 7/4" and became instantly recognizable for its energetic rhythm and distinctive sound. The song was included on Bellini's debut album of the same name. While they had other releases, "Samba de Janeiro" remains their signature song and their most commercially successful achievement. After some line-up changes and inactivity, the band eventually ceased to exist.
