Atlanta (band)

Atlanta was an American country rock band formed in 1982 in Nashville, Tennessee. The band consisted of Tony Ingram (lead vocals, guitar), Bill Davidson (keyboards, vocals), Allen Collay (bass), Jeff McCord (guitar, vocals), Jim Stanley (drums), and Brad Van Pelt (guitar).

Atlanta achieved success in the early to mid-1980s with a string of charting singles on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart. Their signature sound blended country instrumentation with rock and pop influences, contributing to the burgeoning "new traditionalist" movement within country music.

Notable hits by Atlanta include "Sweet Country Music," which reached the Top 10, as well as "Atlanta Burned Again Last Night," and "Make a Little Memory." They released several albums during their active years, touring extensively and building a dedicated fanbase.

The band officially disbanded in the late 1980s, with its members pursuing individual musical endeavors or leaving the music industry altogether. While Atlanta's time in the spotlight was relatively short, their contributions to the country rock genre are remembered by fans and music historians.
