Arthur Coates (cricketer)
Arthur Coates (born 17 September 1884, date of death unknown) was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Derbyshire in 1921.
Coates was born in Clay Cross, Derbyshire. He made his debut for Derbyshire in June 1921 against Essex when he took two wickets. He played seven matches in the 1921 season, taking 14 wickets at an average of 34.00. A right-arm medium-fast bowler, his best performance was 4 for 67 against Northamptonshire. He was a right-handed batsman and played nine innings with a top score of 9 and an average of 3.00.
