Erna Putz
Erna Putz (born 1921, died 1995) was an Austrian textile artist and designer. She is primarily known for her tapestries and textile artworks which often incorporated abstract and geometric patterns. Putz studied at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, and her work gained recognition in the post-World War II era as part of a broader movement of modern Austrian art. She exhibited her pieces both nationally and internationally, contributing to the development of textile art as a distinct artistic medium. Her designs often reflected an interest in color theory and texture. Information about her life and work can be found in catalogues and publications documenting Austrian art from the mid to late 20th century, although comprehensive dedicated monographs may be limited.
