Archibald Jack (pentathlete)
Archibald "Archie" Jack (born February 11, 1918, died 2003) was a British modern pentathlete. He represented Great Britain at the 1948 Summer Olympics in London, where he finished 24th overall. His individual event scores included placing 28th in riding, 19th in fencing, 22nd in shooting, 26th in swimming, and 19th in running. Outside of the Olympics, Jack was also a notable member of the British pentathlon community, competing in national and international competitions throughout the 1940s and 1950s. He served in the British Army during World War II, which impacted his training. He was known for his sportsmanship and dedication to the sport.
