Antilia (building)

Antilia is a private residence located in Mumbai, India, and is owned by Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries. Completed in 2010, it is considered one of the world's largest and most elaborate private homes.

The 27-story building, reportedly standing at approximately 173 meters (568 feet) tall, features numerous amenities and facilities, including multiple swimming pools, ballrooms, gardens, a temple, and a private movie theater. Several floors are dedicated to parking and car maintenance, and the building is designed to withstand earthquakes.

Antilia has garnered significant attention for its architectural design, scale, and opulence. It has also been subject to criticism for its perceived extravagance and its contrast with the poverty prevalent in Mumbai. The building's design is reportedly based on Vastu Shastra principles. The architect involved in the project was Perkins and Will, with Australian-based construction company Leighton Holdings undertaking the construction.

Its name is derived from the mythical island of Antillia, often depicted on European maps during the 15th century. The building serves as the primary residence for the Ambani family.
