Two (GQ album)
Two is the second studio album by the American funk/disco group GQ, released in 1980 on the Arista Records label. The album followed their successful self-titled debut and continued their blend of danceable funk grooves and soulful vocals.
The album features the singles "Standing Ovation," which was a moderate chart success, and "I Do Love You," a cover of the Billy Stewart song that became a major hit for GQ. Two continued to showcase the band's tight musicianship and their ability to craft catchy, radio-friendly tunes while maintaining a funky edge.
While not as commercially successful as their debut, Two solidified GQ's place in the late disco/early funk landscape. The album's production is characteristic of the era, featuring prominent basslines, shimmering keyboards, and crisp drum programming. Other notable tracks on the album include "Shake," "Sitting in the Park," and "Is It Cool."
