Aaron Lynch (American football)
Aaron Lynch (born March 8, 1993) is a former American football defensive end. He played college football at Notre Dame and South Florida.
Early Life and High School
Lynch attended Cape Coral High School in Cape Coral, Florida, where he was a highly regarded football prospect. He was a standout defensive end and was considered one of the top recruits in the nation.
College Career
Lynch initially played college football for the University of Notre Dame in 2011. He had a productive freshman season, recording several sacks and tackles for loss. Following the season, he transferred to the University of South Florida (USF). After sitting out the 2012 season due to transfer rules, he played for the Bulls in 2013.
Professional Career
Lynch was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He played for the 49ers for four seasons (2014-2017). During his time in San Francisco, he contributed as a rotational pass rusher.
In 2018, Lynch signed with the Chicago Bears. He played for the Bears for two seasons (2018-2019).
In 2020, Lynch signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars but was later released. He then signed with the New Orleans Saints, but opted out of the 2020 season due to concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.
