Richard Jackson (bishop)
Richard Jackson is an Anglican bishop. He served as the Bishop of Monmouth in the Church in Wales from 2003 until his retirement in 2019.
Born in 1955, he was educated at the University of Wales, Lampeter and St. Michael's College, Llandaff. He was ordained a deacon in 1982 and a priest in 1983. He served as a curate in the Parish of Whitchurch, Cardiff, before becoming a vicar in Pontypridd. He later served as Archdeacon of Llandaff before his election as Bishop of Monmouth.
During his tenure as Bishop of Monmouth, Jackson focused on issues of social justice and community engagement. He was a vocal advocate for the poor and marginalized. Since retirement, he has remained active in church affairs and community initiatives.
