Svenska Serien (ice hockey)
Svenska Serien was a former top-level ice hockey league in Sweden. It served as the premier league before the formation of the Swedish Elite League (Elitserien, now the Swedish Hockey League or SHL) in 1975. Svenska Serien was contested annually, and the winning team was crowned Swedish champion. The league's structure and participating teams evolved over its existence, often involving regional divisions and playoff rounds to determine the overall champion. Teams from Svenska Serien later became founding members of the Elitserien. The league played a crucial role in developing the sport of ice hockey in Sweden and shaping the landscape of Swedish club hockey.
