Chokha (painter)
Chokha was an 18th-century Indian painter, known for his work in the Kishangarh style of Rajput painting. He was active during the reign of Raja Savant Singh (also known as Nagari Das), a poet, devotee of Krishna, and himself a patron of the arts. Chokha is considered a prominent artist of the Kishangarh school, characterized by its distinctive elongated features, idealized beauty, and devotional themes centered around Radha and Krishna. His paintings are recognized for their delicate brushwork, vibrant colors, and attention to detail, often depicting scenes from Hindu mythology and court life in Kishangarh.
