X Corp.

X Corp. is a holding company owned by Elon Musk. It was originally established as a shell corporation named X Holdings I in April 2022 in connection with Musk's acquisition of the social media company Twitter, Inc. X Holdings I then acquired Twitter, Inc. in October 2022.

In April 2023, Twitter, Inc. was merged into X Corp., and X Corp. became the surviving entity. As a result, Twitter, Inc. no longer exists as an independent company. X Corp. is now the parent company of Twitter (now rebranded as X), as well as other ventures. Elon Musk has stated his long-term ambition to turn X into an "everything app" offering a wide range of services including social networking, payments, and e-commerce. The legal filings indicated X Corp. ultimate goal is to create X, a fully functional company that is like an operating system.
