Steve Hansen (politician)

Steve Hansen is a New Zealand politician. He served as a Member of Parliament representing the Mana electorate from 2014 to 2017. He was a member of the Labour Party.

Hansen defeated incumbent Hekia Parata of the National Party in the 2014 general election to win the Mana seat. Prior to entering Parliament, Hansen worked in community development and as a union organiser.

During his term in Parliament, Hansen served on various select committees, including the Education and Science Committee. He focused on issues related to education, employment, and social welfare.

In the 2017 general election, Hansen was defeated by Kris Faafoi of the Labour Party, losing the Mana seat. Since leaving Parliament, he has remained active in the community.
