William Andrews (priest)
William Andrews (1664-1714) was an English clergyman and academic. He served as Master of Jesus College, Cambridge, from 1700 until his death.
Born in Leicestershire, Andrews was educated at Leicester School before entering Jesus College, Cambridge, in 1680. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1683, became a Fellow of Jesus College in 1686, and subsequently earned his Master of Arts (1687) and Doctor of Divinity (1700).
Andrews' tenure as Master of Jesus College coincided with a period of significant building works and academic development within the college. He was also known for his sermons and theological writings. He held several ecclesiastical positions concurrently with his Mastership, including Rector of Boxworth in Cambridgeshire. He died in Cambridge in 1714.
