Paul Boyer (politician)
Paul Boyer (born November 18, 1946) is an American politician from Arizona. He served as a Republican member of the Arizona House of Representatives representing District 20 from 2011 to 2019, and as a Republican member of the Arizona Senate representing District 20 from 2019 to 2023. District 20 generally covers areas of Phoenix, Arizona.
During his time in the legislature, Boyer was known for his independent streak and willingness to break with his party on certain issues, particularly regarding education funding and election integrity. He often championed increased funding for public education and opposed measures he believed would undermine the integrity of the electoral process. He gained significant attention for his votes and public statements challenging aspects of the 2020 election audit in Maricopa County, Arizona.
Boyer holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Arizona State University. Before entering politics, he worked as a real estate broker.
