Major (Sweden)

In the Swedish Armed Forces, Major (Swedish: Major) is a field officer rank. It is above Kapten (Captain) and below Överstelöjtnant (Lieutenant Colonel).

The rank insignia is two stars worn on the shoulder boards or collar.

Majors typically hold positions as battalion or regimental second-in-command, or as heads of departments or branches within larger headquarters. They may also serve as instructors at military academies or staff officers at higher levels.
