Mike West (swimmer)
Mike West (born October 10, 1964) is a Canadian former competition swimmer. He competed primarily in backstroke and freestyle events.
West represented Canada at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California, and at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. In Los Angeles, he won a bronze medal as a member of the Canadian men's 4x100-meter medley relay team. He also competed in several other events in both Olympics, achieving notable finishes.
Throughout his career, West also competed in the Commonwealth Games and Pan Pacific Championships, earning medals in various backstroke and relay events. He was known for his versatility and contribution to Canadian swimming on the international stage. Following his competitive career, he remained involved in the sport, contributing to coaching and athlete development.
