USS Rush (SP-712)

The USS Rush (SP-712) was a United States Navy patrol boat in commission from 1917 to 1919. Rush was built as a private motorboat of the same name in 1916 by the Matthews Boat Company at Port Clinton, Ohio. In May 1917, the U.S. Navy acquired her from her owner, R. A. Radway of New York City, for use as a section patrol boat during World War I. She was commissioned as USS Rush (SP-712) on May 28, 1917.

Assigned to the 3rd Naval District, Rush performed patrol duties in the New York City area for the duration of World War I. Following the end of the war, she was stricken from the Navy List on March 24, 1919, and sold on June 28, 1919.
