Polohy

Polohy (Ukrainian: Пологи) is a city located in Zaporizhzhia Oblast in southeastern Ukraine. It serves as the administrative center of Polohy Raion.

Historically, the settlement was founded in 1887 as a railway station. The name "Polohy" is derived from the Ukrainian word for "ravines" or "gullies," referring to the area's landscape. The city is a significant railway junction and a regional industrial center, with enterprises involved in mechanical engineering, food processing, and agriculture.

Polohy experienced significant conflict and occupation during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine.
