Tribuče

Tribuče is a municipality and village in the Liptov region of northern Slovakia. It is administratively part of the Liptovský Mikuláš District, within the Žilina Region. The village is situated near the Liptovská Mara reservoir, a large artificial lake created on the Váh river.

The area is predominantly agricultural, though tourism related to the reservoir and surrounding natural environment has grown in importance. The municipality is relatively small in population and area, characteristic of many villages in the region. Information regarding the exact historical origins of Tribuče is limited, but it shares a general history with the broader Liptov region, including periods of Hungarian rule and subsequent incorporation into Czechoslovakia and then Slovakia. The local economy is primarily based on agriculture and small-scale services.
