Peduel
Peduel (Hebrew: פְּדוּאֵל) is a communal settlement (kibbutz dati) located in the western Samaria region of the West Bank. It falls under the jurisdiction of the Shomron Regional Council.
The settlement was established in 1984 by members of the religious kibbutz movement. The name "Peduel" is taken from the Book of Numbers 34:28 and refers to a person from the tribe of Naphtali who was appointed to help divide the land of Canaan.
Peduel's economy is based primarily on agriculture, including vineyards, olive groves, and various crops. It also has some light industry.
The community is religiously observant and maintains a synagogue and other religious institutions.
As with other Israeli settlements in the West Bank, Peduel's existence and status are subject to ongoing international debate. The international community generally considers Israeli settlements in the occupied territories to be illegal under international law, though Israel disputes this. The future of Peduel, along with other settlements in the West Bank, is a central issue in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
