Royton (UK Parliament constituency)
Royton was a parliamentary constituency centred on the town of Royton in Lancashire, England. It returned one Member of Parliament (MP) to the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom.
History
The constituency was created for the 1918 general election, replacing the Middleton constituency. It was abolished for the 1950 general election, when it was largely absorbed into the new Middleton and Prestwich constituency.
Boundaries
The constituency comprised the urban district of Royton, part of the urban district of Crompton, and part of the municipal borough of Oldham.
