Tom Brock (singer)

Tom Brock (born c. 1945, died c. 2002) was an American soul singer known primarily for his 1974 debut album, I Love You More and More. Although he released only one full-length album, it has garnered a cult following among soul music enthusiasts and musicians due to its sophisticated arrangements, Brock's emotive vocals, and the involvement of renowned songwriters and producers.

Brock began his career in the late 1960s, performing in Los Angeles clubs and working as a session musician. His break came when he connected with Barry White, who co-wrote, arranged, and produced I Love You More and More. The album, released on 20th Century Records, featured lush orchestrations and sophisticated songwriting, typical of White's signature sound.

Despite the album's critical acclaim, it failed to achieve significant commercial success at the time of its release. Disappointed with the lack of recognition, Brock largely retreated from the music industry.

In the years following his debut, little information about Brock's life and activities surfaced. He remained a largely enigmatic figure. His album, however, steadily gained popularity among soul aficionados and DJs, leading to reissues and renewed appreciation for his unique vocal style and the quality of the production.

While the exact circumstances surrounding his death are not widely documented, it is believed that Tom Brock passed away around 2002. Despite his relatively brief recording career, his contributions to soul music, particularly his collaboration with Barry White, have secured his place in the genre's history.
