Hotlegs
Hotlegs was a British glam rock band formed in 1970. The group is primarily known for their 1970 hit single, "Neanderthal Man," which reached number 2 in the UK Singles Chart and was a hit in several other countries.
Hotlegs consisted of Eric Stewart, Graham Gouldman, Kevin Godley, and Lol Creme. Prior to forming Hotlegs, Stewart, Gouldman, and Godley were members of the band The Mindbenders, and Creme was a frequent collaborator.
Following the success of "Neanderthal Man," Hotlegs released an album, Thinks: School Stinks. However, they struggled to replicate the success of their debut single.
The band dissolved in the early 1970s, with Stewart, Gouldman, Godley, and Creme going on to form the highly successful art-pop band 10cc. While Hotlegs was relatively short-lived, it served as a crucial stepping stone in the formation of 10cc and demonstrated the musical talents of its members. "Neanderthal Man" remains a cult classic and a notable example of early 1970s glam rock.
