Sean Johnson (soccer)

Sean Johnson (born May 31, 1989) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper for Toronto FC in Major League Soccer (MLS). He has also represented the United States national team.

Johnson began his professional career with the Chicago Fire, joining as a homegrown player in 2010. He quickly established himself as the Fire's starting goalkeeper and remained with the club for seven seasons. During his time in Chicago, he earned MLS All-Star selections and was known for his shot-stopping ability and command of his penalty area.

In 2017, Johnson was traded to New York City FC (NYCFC). He played a key role in NYCFC's success, consistently performing well and helping the team reach the playoffs multiple times. He won the MLS Cup with NYCFC in 2021, earning the MLS Cup MVP award for his outstanding performance in the final.

On January 9, 2023, Johnson signed with Toronto FC.

Internationally, Johnson has been capped for the United States national team. He has participated in various international competitions, including the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
