Tours Duo
Tours Duo is a twin-tower skyscraper complex located in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, France, near the Périphérique ring road. Designed by architect Jean Nouvel, the complex is characterized by its distinctive leaning forms, creating a dynamic and unconventional silhouette against the Parisian skyline. The two towers, named Tower West and Tower East, house primarily office spaces, and also include hotel accommodations, retail spaces, and a restaurant.
The design philosophy behind Tours Duo prioritizes integration with its surrounding urban environment, incorporating features that connect the towers to the city. This includes public spaces at the base of the towers and rooftop gardens that offer panoramic views of Paris. The leaning design is not simply aesthetic; it is engineered to maximize natural light and minimize shadows cast on the surrounding neighborhood.
The project faced various delays and revisions throughout its development. Its completion marked a significant addition to the architectural landscape of Paris, pushing the boundaries of skyscraper design within the city. The Tours Duo project represents a commitment to sustainable development, incorporating environmentally friendly technologies and building practices. The complex aims to contribute to the revitalization of the area and create a new landmark for Paris.
