KCNC-TV
KCNC-TV is a CBS-owned and operated television station licensed to Denver, Colorado, United States. It serves as the flagship television property of the CBS News and Stations group in the Denver market. The station broadcasts a high-definition digital signal on VHF channel 4 (virtual channel 4.1 via PSIP) from a transmitter atop Lookout Mountain, near Golden.
KCNC-TV's studios are located on East Peak Boulevard in Centennial, Colorado. The station's news programming is branded as "CBS News Colorado."
Originally, KCNC-TV signed on the air as KBTV in 1953. It was owned by Mullins Broadcasting, along with KBTR radio (now KEZW). It became a CBS affiliate in 1955. The station's call letters were changed to KCNC-TV in 1968, reflecting the ownership by the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS). Over the years, KCNC-TV has been a leading source of news and information for the Denver metropolitan area.
