Tom Wolf

Tom Wolf (born November 17, 1948) is an American businessman and politician who served as the 47th Governor of Pennsylvania from 2015 to 2023. A member of the Democratic Party, he defeated Republican incumbent Tom Corbett in the 2014 gubernatorial election and was re-elected in 2018, defeating Republican Scott Wagner.

Prior to his political career, Wolf owned and operated the Wolf Organization, a family-owned building materials distribution company based in York, Pennsylvania. He also served as Pennsylvania's Secretary of Revenue under Governor Ed Rendell from 2007 to 2008.

Wolf's gubernatorial platform focused on issues such as education funding, property tax reform, and improving the state's economy. During his tenure, he signed legislation to increase education funding, expand Medicaid coverage, and address the opioid crisis. He also oversaw efforts to raise the minimum wage and modernize Pennsylvania's infrastructure. His governorship was often marked by legislative battles with the Republican-controlled General Assembly.
