Laurel Hill Plantation (Adams County, Mississippi)

Laurel Hill Plantation is a historic plantation located in Adams County, Mississippi, near Natchez. The plantation house, a large Greek Revival mansion, was built in the 1850s for Dr. William Bisland, a prominent physician and planter. The house is notable for its impressive columns, elaborate interior detailing, and well-preserved condition.

Laurel Hill was a working plantation, primarily focused on the cultivation of cotton. Enslaved African Americans provided the labor that sustained the plantation's economy. The property includes several outbuildings, such as a kitchen, smokehouse, and slave quarters, which offer insight into the lives of those who lived and worked there.

After the Civil War, Laurel Hill remained in the Bisland family for several generations. Over time, the plantation transitioned from agricultural production to a private residence.
