Tim Ries
Tim Ries is an American jazz saxophonist, composer, arranger, and educator. He is best known for his work as a touring and recording member of The Rolling Stones since 1999, contributing saxophone, keyboards, and percussion.
Ries has released several albums under his own name, featuring a diverse range of musical styles including jazz, classical, and world music. He often incorporates elements of different cultures into his compositions and performances.
Beyond his work with The Rolling Stones, Ries has collaborated with a wide array of notable musicians, including Sheryl Crow, Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon, and Donald Fagen. He has also worked extensively as a session musician and arranger.
Ries is a dedicated educator, serving as a faculty member at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance. He conducts workshops and masterclasses internationally, sharing his expertise in saxophone performance, composition, and improvisation.
