Ted Sherdeman

Ted Sherdeman (1909 – 1987) was an American screenwriter, television writer, and novelist, best known for his work in science fiction, horror, and Westerns. He frequently collaborated with his wife, Jane Sherdeman, on writing projects.

Sherdeman's career spanned several decades, encompassing various mediums. He contributed to the screenplays of notable films such as "Them!" (1954), a giant ant science fiction classic, and "Revolt at Fort Laramie" (1957), a Western. He also wrote for television series including "Tales of Wells Fargo," "Lawman," and "Combat!"

His writing often explored themes of Cold War anxieties, societal fears, and the impact of technology, particularly evident in his science fiction work. While "Them!" remains his most widely recognized contribution, his broader body of work demonstrates a versatility and consistent engagement with popular genres of the mid-20th century. He also penned several novels, showcasing his diverse writing capabilities.
