Darkhawk
Darkhawk is the alias of Chris Powell, a fictional superhero appearing in comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by Mike Manley and Danny Fingeroth, he first appeared in Darkhawk #1 (March 1991).
Fictional Character Biography:
Christopher "Chris" Powell was a teenager who discovered an amulet that allowed him to transform into the armored superhero Darkhawk. The amulet replaced his body with an android form controlled by his mind. Initially, Chris believed the Darkhawk armor was simply a powerful exosuit. However, he later learned the truth about the amulet and its connection to an alien race of androids.
The amulet actually accesses a Raptor armor, a form of powerful android body stored on a ship in Null Space. These armors were originally intended to serve as a police force for the Shi'ar Empire, but were instead used by the evil Overlord to enslave various planets. Chris's Raptor armor, alongside a few others, was sabotaged, causing it to become more independent and giving Chris greater control.
Throughout his adventures, Darkhawk battles a variety of villains, including Hobgoblin, Tombstone, and Savage Steel. He also interacts with other Marvel heroes, joining teams such as the New Warriors and the Loners. Chris struggles to balance his normal life with his responsibilities as Darkhawk, dealing with personal issues and the complexities of his newfound powers.
Powers and Abilities:
As Darkhawk, Chris possesses superhuman strength, agility, and durability. The armor grants him the ability to fly, project energy beams, and generate a protective force field. The Darkhawk armor also has a retractable claw weapon. He also develops a "Datasong" ability that grants him insight into various topics and situations.
