Magic Numbers (game show)
Magic Numbers was a British television game show that aired on ITV from 1964 to 1967. Hosted by Alan Taylor, the show revolved around numerical puzzles and general knowledge questions.
The format typically involved contestants answering questions to earn the right to manipulate numbers on a large board. These numbers could be added, subtracted, multiplied, or divided to reach a specific target number, often called the "Magic Number." Contestants competed against the clock to solve the numerical challenge.
The show's popularity stemmed from its combination of intellectual challenge and the inherent drama of a race against time. The visual element of the large number board and the audience's engagement in trying to solve the puzzles alongside the contestants contributed to its appeal. The show was produced by Associated Rediffusion.
