Steve Nye
Steve Nye is a British record producer and sound engineer, primarily known for his work in the new wave and progressive rock genres. He began his career in the late 1970s and has worked with a variety of notable artists.
Nye is particularly recognized for his collaborations with bands such as Japan, producing their seminal albums Gentlemen Take Polaroids, Tin Drum, and the live album Oil on Canvas. His production work on these albums is considered instrumental in shaping Japan's distinctive sound, characterized by its atmospheric textures, innovative arrangements, and sophisticated instrumentation.
