Stanley Johnson (writer)

Stanley Johnson (born 18 August 1940) is a British author and politician. He is primarily known for his works on environmental and population issues, as well as a range of novels and political commentary.

Johnson served as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for Wight and Hampshire East from 1979 to 1984. During his time in the European Parliament, he focused on environmental protection and conservation. He has also held various positions within organizations dedicated to environmental causes.

His published works include books on environmental policy, such as "Pollution Control" and "The Politics of Population," as well as novels, including "The Commissioner," which was adapted into a film. He has also written memoirs and books related to his family history. His writings often reflect his concerns about overpopulation, resource management, and the impact of human activities on the planet. He is the father of former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
