Aeroflex

Aeroflex was a global provider of high-technology solutions for test, measurement, and microelectronic products. The company served the aerospace, defense, commercial communications, and general electronics markets. Aeroflex offered a range of products including test equipment, RF and microwave components, and microelectronic devices.

Aeroflex's test and measurement solutions were used in the development, manufacturing, and maintenance of wireless communication systems, avionics equipment, and other electronic devices. Its component products included RF amplifiers, switches, and filters used in various communication and electronic systems. The microelectronic products focused on providing solutions for radiation-hardened and high-reliability applications, often used in space and defense systems.

Historically, Aeroflex acquired several companies to expand its product portfolio and market reach. Significant acquisitions included IFR Systems, a provider of avionics and radio test equipment, and Comstron Corporation, which specialized in signal generators.

In 2014, Aeroflex was acquired by Cobham plc, a British aerospace, defense, and communications company. Following the acquisition, Aeroflex's operations were integrated into Cobham's Advanced Electronic Solutions sector. Consequently, the Aeroflex brand name was largely phased out as the businesses were rebranded under the Cobham name. Cobham, in turn, was later acquired by Advent International in 2020 and is now part of the Ultra Electronics Group. The assets formerly comprising Aeroflex now operate within the broader Ultra Electronics structure.
