South Bank station (Pittsburgh Regional Transit)
South Bank station is a light rail station on the Pittsburgh Regional Transit's (PRT) light rail network. It is located in the South Shore neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, near the Monongahela River. The station is part of the Blue Line (formerly Library Line) and the Silver Line (formerly South Hills Village Line), providing service to destinations in the South Hills of Pittsburgh and downtown Pittsburgh.
The station is situated on a bridge that carries the light rail tracks above the parking lots and commercial developments adjacent to the river. Access to the station is via stairs and elevators, making it accessible to people with disabilities. It primarily serves commuters and residents of the nearby South Shore area, as well as visitors to the numerous businesses and entertainment venues in the vicinity, including the Rivers Casino. Its proximity to major roadways also makes it a convenient park-and-ride location for those travelling from further afield.
