Sky City (album)

Sky City is the debut studio album by the American Christian rock band Guardian. Released in 1990 by Pakaderm Records, it marked a significant shift from the band's earlier, heavier metal sound towards a more melodic and accessible rock style. The album is noted for its polished production, largely attributed to the involvement of brothers Dino and John Elefante, formerly of the band Kansas, who produced the album. Sky City features prominent keyboard elements and strong vocal harmonies, characteristics that would define much of Guardian's subsequent work. Thematically, the album explores themes of faith, hope, and overcoming adversity. Key tracks on Sky City include "Power of Love," "Send a Message," and the title track, "Sky City." The album was generally well-received within the Christian rock community and helped to establish Guardian as a prominent act in the genre.
