Orlando (band)
Orlando were a British pop band formed in London in 1996. The original lineup consisted of Dickon Edwards (vocals, guitar), Sean Read (keyboards), Richard Thomas (drums), and Roger Mann (bass). Their music blended elements of glam rock, power pop, and new wave.
Orlando released several singles, including "Just for a Second" and "Fake Gold Stars," which gained them some attention on the UK indie scene. They released two studio albums: Is It a Bit Early for an Album? (1997) and Passive Soul (1999).
The band were known for their energetic live performances and distinctive visual style, often incorporating glitter and flamboyant outfits. Despite critical acclaim from some quarters, Orlando never achieved mainstream commercial success. They disbanded in 2000.
Following the dissolution of Orlando, members pursued various musical projects. Dickon Edwards has been involved in numerous bands and solo work. Sean Read has worked extensively as a session musician and producer.
