Smeg (appliances)

Smeg is an Italian manufacturer of domestic appliances. The company was founded in 1948 in Guastalla, Emilia-Romagna, Italy, by Vittorio Bertazzoni. The name Smeg is an acronym for Smalterie Metallurgiche Emiliane Guastalla, which translates to "Emilian metallurgical enamel works of Guastalla".

Initially specializing in enameling and metalwork, Smeg transitioned to producing cooking appliances in the 1950s. They are known for their retro 1950s-style appliances, particularly refrigerators, which are often brightly colored and feature rounded designs.
