Sicko (band)

Sicko was an American punk rock band formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1991. They are known for their fast, melodic, and often humorous songs, influenced by bands like the Descendents, Screeching Weasel, and the Ramones. Sicko gained a significant following in the 1990s punk scene, touring extensively and releasing albums on various independent record labels.

The band’s core members included singer and guitarist Michale Graves (not to be confused with the former Misfits singer), guitarist Nate Manny, bassist Erik (last name often not published), and drummer Tad Hutchison. Over their career, Sicko went through several lineup changes, but these four were generally considered the mainstays.

Sicko's discography includes several full-length albums, EPs, and singles, including notable releases such as You Can Feel the Love in This Room, Porno, Mint, and Throat, and 8-Bit. Their music often addressed themes of suburban boredom, awkward social situations, and a general sense of youthful alienation, delivered with a characteristic tongue-in-cheek approach.

The band officially dissolved in the early 2000s, with members pursuing other musical projects. Although they have not released new material or toured since their initial breakup, their music remains influential within the pop-punk and melodic hardcore subgenres. Sicko is remembered for their energetic live performances and their contribution to the vibrant 1990s Seattle punk scene that also spawned many other influential bands.
