Worcester Warriors (ice hockey)

The Worcester Warriors were a minor league professional ice hockey team based in Worcester, Massachusetts. They existed for only one season, 2006-2007, as a member of the Continental Hockey League (CHL).

The team was founded by Jim Quesnelle and served as a developmental affiliate for the Lowell Lock Monsters of the American Hockey League (AHL). The Warriors played their home games at the Buffone Arena.

The team's single season record was unremarkable, and they ultimately folded following the 2006-2007 season due to financial difficulties and low attendance. The CHL itself ceased operations shortly thereafter. The Worcester Warriors' brief existence is now a footnote in the history of minor league hockey in the Worcester area, which has seen more successful and longer-lasting teams, such as the Worcester Sharks (AHL) and the current Worcester Railers HC (ECHL).
