Scarborough—Rouge River (federal electoral district)
Scarborough—Rouge River is a federal electoral district in Ontario, Canada. It has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada since 2015.
The riding was created in 2012 from parts of the ridings of Scarborough—Guildwood, Scarborough—Rouge River (provincial electoral district), and Pickering—Scarborough East. Its boundaries consist of the part of the City of Toronto bounded by Steeles Avenue East to the north, Morningside Avenue to the east, Highway 401 to the south, and the Rouge River to the west.
The electoral district is ethnically diverse, with a significant population of immigrants, particularly from South Asia and East Asia. Economically, it is a mix of residential areas, commercial centers, and industrial zones.
The riding has been represented by Members of Parliament from the Liberal Party of Canada since its creation. The results of federal elections in Scarborough—Rouge River typically reflect the broader trends within the Greater Toronto Area.
