INS Akshay (P35)

INS Akshay (P35) was an Abhay-class corvette of the Indian Navy. Commissioned on December 23, 1991, and decommissioned on June 3, 2022, she served for over three decades. As a part of the Abhay class, INS Akshay was designed for anti-submarine warfare. Her primary role involved detecting and neutralizing underwater threats. The ship was equipped with a variety of sensors and weapons systems for this purpose, including sonar, torpedoes, and anti-submarine rockets.

INS Akshay participated in numerous naval exercises and operations throughout her service life, contributing to maritime security in the Indian Ocean region. The decommissioning marked the end of a significant chapter in the Indian Navy's history and the gradual phasing out of older platforms in favor of more modern vessels.
